Applications Trainer

Job Profile

The Application Trainer is responsible for training the Core applications for the organization. To provide advisory services and training to internal customers on the operation Dynamics 2015, Preceptive Content, Time and Crew Management Mobile App, Employee Health and Safety App. One of the main responsibilities includes staying up to date with current business processes, developing and implementing strategies to address problem areas with the solutions including implementing continuous improvement strategies. Individuals must work well in a team setting to meet objectives in a timely manner; however, individuals also need to be able to perform effectively with minimal supervision.  

This position will be based out of our Mississauga location, reporting to the Director, Business Solutions.


  • Provide ongoing business application support.  
  • Delivery of on site and remote training sessions for 5 core applications. 
  • Research new training materials and supplies that might enhance our training procedures and provide value to our employees. 
  • On-board new hires and assign them to training sessions. 
  • Identify future training needs and create curriculum to facilitate that training. 
  • Search for gaps in training material or content that should be filled to ensure safety and productivity among staff members. 
  • Communicate with team members, trainers and management to ensure all needs are met. 
  • Provide ongoing business application support. 


  • Create draft training documents and templates for company supported applications. 
  • Process mapping and materials for application end-user environments.  
  • Update materials periodically based on system modifications and upgrades. 
  • Monitor training materials using guidelines and procedures to control documents, Version Control. 
  • Manage training records – archive, analyze and present results of training evaluations including feedback and ROI. 
  • Co-develop and manage internal ‘SuperUser’ Program for Core Applications.  

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a trainer and/or facilitator.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Communications or Education.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to see the ‘big picture’. 
  • Experience in system integrations and rollouts. 
  • Experience with Training on integrated systems. 
  • Experience in building training concepts, frameworks, process mapping, work-flow management, information architecture. 
  • Knowledge of Adult Learning principals, approaches and practices. 
  • Experience with ERP’s and SAP systems and applications (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
  • Ability to work both individually and collaboratively with little supervision. 
  • Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships. 
  • Flexibility to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, the ability to develop, sell, and execute appropriate vision of various system applications.
