Roofing Coordinator

Job Summary

The Roofing Coordinator is responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling the activities involved with commercial and industrial roofing projects. The person in this position reports to the Construction Manager - Roofing.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and supports under the guidance and direction of the Roofing Manager, Superintendents, and Foremen 
  • Prepares and maintains an MS Project Production Schedule on a weekly basis 
  • Receives job folders, material lists and shop drawings etc. to start submittal package
  •  Gather and provide the client with the following submittals for approval; 
    • MSDS & Product Data
    • LEED Package (If specified)
    • Shop Drawings
    • Material & Colour Samples
    • Project Schedule
  • Prepares the project safety binder 
  • Generate and submit Notice of Project
  • Generate and submit warranties such as; roofing association, Manufacturer and/or Guarantee(s), as specified
  • Manage warranty job status excel spreadsheet to keep current for future leak calls
  • Coordinates the logistics and movement of all rentals and equipment for up to 25 projects simultaneously as directed by the superintendent
  • Communicates and notifies Consultants and Manufacturing agents on a daily basis regarding current job status as directed by the superintendent
  • Provides a project crew list to the safety and roofing department on a daily basis
  • Communicates with subcontractors to provide current WSIB and Certificate of Insurance Letters
  • Prepares for project close-out by collecting warranties and applying for manufacturing/suppliers project rebates 
  • Provide support to Superintendents on a daily basis with requests & other admin duties as required

Desired Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience working on commercial roofs is an asset
  • Education in a civil engineering / building science program or a related educational field
  • Familiarity with commercial roofing methods (flat and sloped) and building codes
  • Proficiency in MS office package, including MS Project
  • Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
  • Ability to read plans and specifications
  • Available to work outside of regular office hours via company cellphone, when required
