Service Superintendent

Job Summary

The position of Service Superintendent is responsible for the planning, organizing and overseeing of the daily activities of multiple roofing crews.  The Roofing Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring roofing systems are built with the highest degree of quality, in the safest and most cost effective manner.  The position works closley with management in order to ensure that all of the necessary work gets done as safe and efficient as possible. This position will be based in our Minneapolis, MN branch.


  • Liaison between Service Manager and field technicians
  • Attend pre-start and job site meetings
  • Review daily with Service Manager on project progress for scheduling purposes.
  • Re-align crews to accommodate conditions and work availability
  • Maintain close contact with customers during project activity
  • Ensure the equipment is in working order before work commences.
  • Ensure that all revisions/change orders are properly documented and accounted for. Give all paper work to the Service Manager / estimator for pricing so that the revision / change order can be processed for invoicing
  • Ensure all proper paper work such as drawings, special instructions, emergency contact numbers, work order with details, etc. is reviewed and given to the foremen.
  • Review daily with each of the foremen the progress of each project.
  • Collect and review all field technician’s time cards, field reports, and pictures, ensure they are correct.
  • Manage Service Inventory
  • Must take all service and leak calls
  • When taking the telephone calls the Service Request/Field Report and work order must be completed with all accurate/proper information.
  • Dispatch calls to field technicians, providing all the above collect information including the job number
  • Ensure field technicians are provided all the necessary safety equipment in compliance with H&S for the region and Flynn safety policies

  • Safety implementation and compliance
  • Maintain on-call status 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
  • Other duties as required



Desired Qualifications

  • 3 years’ of Roofing Experience (Supervisory experience an asset)
  • A solid understanding of the construction trades and construction techniques
  • Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills
  • Strong communication, organization and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office Package
