What You Will Work On?

• Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials as well as glazing and metal products

• Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations

• Supervise and assist with the installation of commercial and industrial Glazing applications (including measuring and marking glass; cutting glass using glass cutters and computerized cutters; assembling and installing prefabricated glass, mirrors and glass products on walls, ceilings or exteriors of buildings; installing, fitting, fabricating and attaching architectural metals or related substitute products in industrial and institutional commercial buildings)

• Establish and continually update job schedule, site requirements, etc. with general contractor and area supervisor

• Oversee your assigned crews and ensure that they work in accordance with our safety policies and procedures and in the best interest of Flynn Canada

• Ensure all on site personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work and equipment maintenance rules, documents all violations, implements and recommends corrective actions as required

• Act as company liaison to job superintendents and work crews

• Communicate all aspects of job status (i.e. extras, schedule delays, etc. with superintendents and project manager)

• Follow-up with on-site problems with area superintendents and field operations manager

• Obtain monthly man hour forecast from area supervisor and prepare man hour backlog report

• Provide training to more junior level, less experienced workers

Who Are We Looking For?


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Glazier in the commercial construction industry OR completion of a three- to four-year apprenticeship program OR Journeyman/woman certificate OR Journeyman/woman certificate equivalent 
  • Previous experience in Foreman/woman role is preferred 
  • Completion of secondary school diploma OR secondary school diploma equivalent is preferred 
  • Intermediate English skills
